An evening repost of this mornings blog post is apparently the way to go on Twitter nowadays: https://t.co/wpf4NiQQRu@LewisLebentz it's all explained in detail here: https://t.co/X5wdC5g81W Free apps has one web dyno + one worker, both with min 6h/day sleepI just published a new blog post I been thinking about for a while. Non-technical for a change. https://t.co/JMx0vrwVVN@LewisLebentz They won’t charge you, they will just ensure that your dyno sleeps for at least 6h/day, so your server will be paused

@tarr11 Ping the webmention servers of the pages you link to you mean? Yeah, one should really automate that – need it myself as well@tarr11 Is it the links that you publish that you want to have automated pinging for? There are some approaches one could take there@tarr11 Much simpler to automate the pinging of new links for the one linking them@tarr11 That would require them to subscribe to / crawl all new content and check for links, which would be much more complex

Retweeted by Pelle Wessman@jgordonshare Usage wouldn't really cost much, it would rather be cheaper than todays polling, only cost would be to build/maintain the code@jgordonshare Only cost is the time to implement the standard and in the case of Pinboard the plug and play solutions wouldn't really scale@jgordonshare Pubsubhubbub is an open standard for notifying consumers about new content in feeds so that polling isn't needed – it's "free"@Pinboard Well, either you push out information about new content through eg. @pubsubhubbub – or consumers will poll you? /cc @superfeedr@Pinboard If you were to add Pubsubhubbub support to the feeds then @superfeedr wouldn't be polling you anymore.
